Garden of words
The project
Garden of Words is an installation where the words are the protagonists, an invitation to meditate on which words are growing and sprouting in our personal garden.
All of them reflect the inner part of us, connecting with feelings and what we usually hide from others and ourselves.
During the exhibition, the participants were invited to write their own words on a piece of paper and place them in a jar beside the installation.
The words are in Spanish, as the artwork was part of the celebration of Spanish Week at Massey University’s Albany campus.

Poem
Since the word begins to bloom,
everything has become more beautiful,
though without ignoring those that bring deep pain,
where beauty also resides, though in a different form.
As I see them come to life, I feel closer to understanding you,
to understanding myself, and the moments we share.
By taming them,
by nurturing them,
by embracing them,
they can grow powerful, carrying truth within.
And when they take shape as decisions and actions,
not only do I draw closer to you,
but I also create a unique space for us to truly be.
Desde que la palabra brota,
todo se volvió más hermoso,
aunque sin ignorar aquellas que causan un dolor profundo,
donde también hay belleza, aunque distinta.
Al verlas existir, me siento más cerca de comprenderte,
de comprenderme y de entender las situaciones que compartimos.
Al domesticarlas,
al cuidarlas,
al interiorizarlas,
pueden volverse poderosas, acompañando la verdad.
Y cuando se exteriorizan como decisiones y acciones,
no solo me acerco a encontrarte,
sino que soy capaz de crear un espacio único para que seamos.

Later on, the garden grew into a full tree, coming alive little by little over the course of two months inside my home, a small apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The power of words: beautiful tools that partially express the intangible.
Each word existed in a different state, eventually traveling toward the expression of each stage in the tree of words. They became part of the roots, branches, leaves, or fruits.
